As mentioned, today was set down as the big churn day.
Well churn it did! I’m now on an Exetel 8Mbps ADSL service with more than enough (for me) of a data allowance. So far Exetel’s support seems to be top notch. E-mail correspondence is fully automated and it does everything to make sure you don’t have to place a call, which in ISP circles is definitely a good thing.
So yes, I’m rather surprised at how smooth it has been – fingers crossed.
I tested the speed by downloading part of an .iso from http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/ and got between 500 and 780MB/s but that’s also with a wireless connection in between. I’ll do some more thorough testing when I’m certain everything is sorted.
Now to find out how difficult it is to cut away from my former ISP…
Glad to see that your churn went through ok.
